LUCID Launches 45-Megapixel Atlas10 Camera with Onsemi’s XGS 45000 CMOS Image Sensor

2025-02-04 14:08:43

Richmond, BC, Canada – January 30, 2025 - LUCID Vision Labs, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative industrial cameras, has expanded its Atlas®10 series with the release of a new high- resolution model featuring Onsemi’s XGS 45000 CMOS global shutter image sensor.

Atlas10 ATX450N

The Atlas10 - 10GigE model features the 45-megapixel (8192 x 5460) Onsemi XGS 45000 CMOS sensor, which delivers high-resolution imaging capable of 16 frames per second at 8-bit and 10-bit outputs. With its combination of high resolution, fast readout speed, and low power consumption, this new model provides a significant boost to industrial imaging applications. The Atlas10 camera is equipped with RDMA technology, enabling reliable, low-latency, high-throughput image transfers with negligible CPU load, making it well-suited for demanding industrial applications.

“This RDMA-enabled Atlas10 camera offers a unique combination of high resolution, fast frame rate, and exceptional image quality,” says Rod Barman, Founder and President of LUCID Vision Labs. “By integrating the 45-megapixel Onsemi sensor, we’re addressing the market demand for higher resolution sensors to capture larger inspection areas in greater detail, making this camera ideal for applications such as flat panel inspection, aerial surveillance, mapping, and electronics inspection.”

“With the XGS 45000, the 3.2 µm pixel size delivers a higher resolution up to 47 full frames per second, or 60 frames per second at 8K video format, while the advanced pixel design ensures low noise performance and high image quality in difficult to see applications like machine vision,” said John Gerard, vice president and general manager, Industrial and Commercial Sensing Division, Onsemi. “The combination of our advanced sensor and LUCID’s robust camera design meets the increasing demand for high-performance imaging across a diverse range of industrial applications.”

The Atlas10 10BASE-T camera series is designed for industrial reliability, offering Power over Ethernet (PoE+), robust M12 and M8 connectors, Active Sensor Alignment for optimal optical performance, and an operating temperature range of -20°C to 50°C. The new ATX450N model includes a TFL-II lens mount designed for larger sensor formats.

Additionally, the Atlas10 series is fully GigE Vision and GenICam compliant, supporting 10 Gbps data transfer speeds via standard CAT6 cables up to 25 meters. The Power over Ethernet (PoE+) capability simplifies integration and reduces cost.

All LUCID cameras are supported by LUCID’s proprietary Arena software development kit (SDK), which provides access to the latest industry standards and software technology. The SDK supports the Windows, Linux 64-bit and Linux ARM operating systems, and the C, C++, C# and Python programming languages.

The new Atlas10 ATX450N camera is now available to order. For more information, please visit the Atlas10 product page or contact Sales.
